He has three younger half-siblings. He had also worked at McDonald’s and Burger King for a short time before getting his start in acting at Youth Performance Company in Minneapolis. Although the series was cancelled after sixteen episodes, Hartnett had made a name for himself. He then began to focus on feature film work. Hartnett has since developed a steady film career, having appeared in many Hollywood films, including The Faculty, Black Hawk Down, Lucky Number Slevin and Pearl Harbor.
